PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana

PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a government scheme aimed at providing financial assistance to small and marginal farmers in India. The scheme was launched in December 2018 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the objective of ensuring a minimum income support to farmers and to supplement their financial needs for procuring various inputs to ensure proper crop health and appropriate yields.

Under the PM Kisan scheme, eligible farmers receive a direct cash transfer of Rs. 6,000 per year in three equal installments of Rs. 2,000 each. The amount is credited directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries to ensure transparency and eliminate any middlemen. The scheme covers around 14 crore farmers across the country and aims to alleviate their financial burden and improve their livelihoods.

To be eligible for the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, farmers must be small or marginal landholders with landholding of up to 2 hectares. The scheme also covers all categories of farmers including tenant farmers and sharecroppers. Farmers can apply for the scheme through the PM Kisan portal or through designated Common Service Centers (CSCs) in their respective states.

The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana has been lauded for its positive impact on the lives of farmers by providing them with a stable source of income and helping them meet their agricultural expenses. The scheme has also helped in boosting rural consumption and overall economic growth in the agricultural sector.

Overall, the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a significant step towards supporting the farming community in India and ensuring their financial stability. The government’s commitment to the welfare of farmers through this scheme is commendable and is expected to bring about positive changes in the lives of millions of farmers across the country.
