ICAR-IISWC, Research Centre, Datia organised Skill development training for women farmers on July 10, 2024. The objective of this training was to train women farmers in various income generating activities and to make them self-reliant. A total of 40 women farmers participated in this program. Tarpaulin sheets were also distributed to them during the training. In-charge head Dr. Rajan explained in detail about various income generation activities, so that women farmers can increase their income. He highlighted various business opportunities and new methods of farming. Dr. Dinesh Kumar, scientist stressed the importance of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and gave information about their formation and operation. He explained how SHGs can help in empowering women economically. Project in-charge Dr. Mukesh Meena highlighted the activities of the SCSP (Scheduled Caste Sub Plan Scheme) program and explained how women farmers can get assistance under this scheme. He shared the information about various schemes of the government and their benefits. Through this program, local women farmers will be helped on their path to new prosperity and will be assisted in taking a strong step towards self-reliance.
