A Technology License Agreement was signed today for the DWEEP Leaf Separator technology at ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute, Sri Vijaya Puram, between the institute and Jai Sankar Industries Pvt. Ltd., Sri Vijaya Puram.
The DWEEP Leaf Separator is an efficient, labor-saving, hand-held tool designed to remove the mid-rib from coconut leaflets. The tool allows a person to separate 500 midribs per hour, compared to just 380 using traditional methods. Additionally, the midribs obtained using this tool are cleaner than those obtained through conventional techniques. This patented technology has significant potential to become an integral part of the agricultural market.
The scientific team behind the innovation includes Dr. I. Jaisankar, Dr. B. Augustine Jerard, Dr. T. Subramani, and Dr. E.B. Chakurkar.
