Farmer want to know information about Kisan call centre?

As agriculture is the backbone of India, farmers play a crucial role in the economic development of the country. However, Indian farmers often find themselves struggling with various issues like crop diseases, lack of information on the latest cultivation techniques, market prices, and weather conditions. To address these issues, the government launched the Kisan Call Centre (KCC) in 2004, a toll-free helpline for farmers.

The KCC is a platform that connects farmers with agricultural experts and provides them with crucial information and assistance related to agriculture. Initially, the centre was established to cater to farmers in 14 states, but now it has been expanded to cover all 28 states and 8 union territories of India.

Farmers can access KCC by dialling the toll-free number 1800-180-1551, which is available in 22 languages. They can share their issues with the experts who will guide them with appropriate solutions and provide timely assistance. The KCC also makes outbound calls to farmers, providing them with useful tips on various agricultural practices, including weather-related advice and government schemes.

One of the major benefits of the KCC is that it has significantly reduced the communication gap between farmers and agricultural experts. Farmers can get valuable advice and solutions to various queries, including land preparation, crop cultivation techniques, pest control management, and market prices of their crops. Furthermore, the call centre provides information on government schemes and subsidies, helping farmers to avail the benefits and uplift their overall income.

In addition, the KCC also helps in addressing the crop-related issues faced by the farmers. The experts will guide farmers to identify the cause of crop damage and provide appropriate solutions to prevent further damage to the crops. For instance, if a farmer complains of bollworms destroying his cotton crop, KCC experts will suggest integrated pest management techniques to combat the problem.

To conclude, the Kisan Call Centre has been a game-changer in Indian agriculture. It has facilitated direct communication between farmers and experts, providing crucial information and assistance to farmers across the country. The KCC has played a vital role in uplifting the farming community’s socio-economic status and ensured that agriculture remains a sustainable source of livelihood for millions of farmers.
