Garlic is one such crop that requires specific fertilizer doses to ensure optimal growth and production. Typically, garlic requires three key nutrients, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (NPK), for optimal growth. Nitrogen helps in leaf growth, phosphorus is essential for root development, and potassium improves the quality of garlic bulbs. The ratio of NPK will depend on the soil test results and which nutrient is latest in the soil.

For garlic crop in general, during the initial growth stage, farmers should apply a fertilizer with a higher nitrogen ratio than potassium. During the bulb formation stage, potassium becomes more important, and farmers should switch to a fertilizer that has a higher potassium ratio.

However, it is crucial for farmers to apply fertilizers in the right amount at the right time. Applying excess fertilizers can harm the soil’s quality and lead to nutrient leaching, which can negatively impact the environment. Moreover, over-fertilization can increase labor costs, as farmers have to spend time and money on correcting the imbalanced soil.

In summary, understanding the proper fertilizer dose information for the garlic crop is essential for ensuring optimal growth and yield. By conducting a soil test, knowing the appropriate NPK ratios, and applying fertilizers in the right amount at the right time, farmers can successfully grow high-quality garlic crops.
