Dairy Vigyan Kendra, Vejalpur, SMC College of Dairy Science, Kamdhenu University,Anand, organized one-day off-campus training
programme on “Scientific Dairy Farming” on 4,June, 2025, at Sadavada and Raninal villages of Kadana taluka in Mahisagar district. The
programme saw enthusiastic participation from 74 dairy farmers in Sadavada and 54 in Raninal.The training commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries on the dais, followed by a floral welcome of the guests. Dr. Jigar H. Patel, Assistant Professor,Livestock Farm Complex, College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Anand, delivered a comprehensive lecture on scientific dairy farming.Dr. S.C. Parmar, Assistant Professor, Department of Dairy Chemistry, SMC College of Dairy Science, discussed clean milk production and value addition in milk. Dr. M.J. Patel, Head,ICD, Panchamrut Dairy, addressed the important aspects of calf rearing.Dr. S.J. Jadav, Assistant Professor and In-charge Head, Dairy Vigyan Kendra, delivered sessions on animal nutrition and reproductive
management in both villages.To reinforce the key takeaways, a folder titled “Management of Animals in Monsoon”was distributed to all participants. The entire programme was successfully coordinated by Dr.S.J. Jadav under the guidance of Dr. Sunita Pinto, Principal, SMC College of Dairy Science, and Dr. M.M. Trivedi, Director of Extension Education, Kamdhenu University, Gandhinagar. The training concluded with a tree plantation activity in both villages, reflecting the institute’s commitment to environmental sustainability. The participating farmers expressed high satisfaction with the programme, appreciating its subject content and expert-led sessions.
